Dierdre Patterson (b. 1991) is an abstract artist based in Tacoma, Washington. Working primarily in painting and sculpture, her practice explores color, form, and spatial composition to engage memory and emotional interiority through abstraction. Her work challenges expectations around representation, asserting abstraction as a space for complexity and expression beyond figuration.
Patterson’s work has been exhibited throughout the Puget Sound region and has been recognized by Artist Trust. She is the 2023 Annie Wright Art Fellow and a 2025 Neddy Artist Award finalist in Painting, and has been featured in Essence Magazine and Abstract Mag. She is also the co-founder of CONCEPT, a Tacoma-based creative agency.
